Brno grows its own Manhattan
7th Oct 2008
Brno's trice district, an area where a small Manhattan with tower buildings of hundreds of offices is going up, is awaiting another big investment.
The company RLRE Carina Property, 90% of which is owned by the Austrian Raiffeisen Leasing, wants to build a large administrative-business centre in this district, covering an area of 31,000 square meters.
The dominant feature of the business park, where thousands of people are expected to work, will be two 18-storey buildings, which will belong among the tallest in town.
Place for skyscrapers
Only a few hundred metres away, the company Property AZ Tower is planning to build 90-metre high office buildings 26 storeys tall next year.
Also, CTP Invest is finishing its office park in this area. However, the construction of its tallest 20-storey building has been halted and work should be resume next year.
RLRE Carina Property plans to start construction of its new business centre H-Park in 2009. "The expected completion date is 2011," said the company in its announcement.
Company representatives say there is nothing that should hinder the construction of the large park. "The examined plan is tolerable and acceptable for the area. The total ecological burden of the territory will not exceed the tolerable limit," the company wrote in its statement.
The town council doesn't have a problem with the project either. It has designated the area in the neighbourhood of Herpick street as a place where investors are allowed to build tower buildings.
