Prague Europe's 3rd most attractive city for retailers
3rd March 2008
Prague has ranked as Europe's third most attractive city where international retail chains plan to expand in the next five years, a survey by adviser Cushman & Wakefield has shown.
Moscow came first, followed by St. Petersburg. Bratislava in the neighbouring Slovakia placed fourth.
Prague has the highest GDP per head measured by purchasing power within the Central European region. It is very attractive for international retail chains, alongside the fast growth of the Czech economy, said Anco Booysen from Cushman & Wakefield.
Prague now has more than 857,000 square metres of retail area in shopping centres, large retail units and the centre of the town, which makes it the most developed retail market in Central Europe, Booysen added.
