Ostrava saw 40% property price growth in 2007 alone, with further good growth in 2008.

Prices were very low after years of economic decline due to its industrial past. The city has taken large steps to attract foreign investment, particularly car makers like Hyundai.

Like, Brno, it is often a place where many Czech companies based in Prague chose to have an office location as wages and office space are cheaper.
